How To Install Engine Oil Cooler
’12-'17 models equipped with evap canister require separate purchase of Canister Relocation Kit P/N 60800005. Rated 5 out of 5 by Motorugger from Savior Just bought my first bike in July, this mustache engine guard was installed upon purchase. As newbie riders do I dropped my bike 2 times (getting gas and stopping on gravel) and this guard kept the bike standing so not to drop on the tank. Thank the lord for that. The crash bar really held up when I dumped my bike going about 20 mph and locked up my front breaks, the bar bent up but kept my bike from laying down as it came to a halt after I was tossed. The only damage to the bike was on the bottom of my pipes. I WILL 110% be buying a new guard for this spring. This is a must have especially for new riders. Rated 4 out of 5 by Erik624 from Solid product but additional parts needed for FXDB This is more an informational note than a review because I never got this installed.
How To Install Engine Guards On A 1600 Gtl Bmw
I ride a 2016 Street Bob and the fitment section says this engine guard will work, but unless I'm missing something, it fails to mention that for my bike a bracket relocation kit is required for the box mounted to the lower front of the frame which helps support the engine. I ended up returning this guard because I don't have the correct tools to support the engine and do that relocation. So just be aware of that before buying. Seems like a solid part though. I just wish it mounted where highway pegs bolt on instead of with those U bolts.
I want to start by saying that this is a very well built product. The thing that was not told is the fact that the brake pedal needs to be changed because the stock one is too close to the brake. (It was supplied) The bigger problem for me was that the shifter lever was to was too close to the guard as well and made it difficult to shift. A couple of times my foot almost got stuck behind the guard and the shifter.
Softail Slim Engine Guard
I have size 10 shoes. Plastics welcome back rardy. I think it's a beautiful design but not user friendly. My bike is a 2007 Harley Fatboy.
The engine guard and soft lowers add a nostalgic look to this Slim. By Steve Lita/Photos by Tricia Szulewski Adding some Softail Slim protectors We were fortunate enough to get our hands on a brand-new 2016 Softail Slim S this year, and we just couldn’t leave well enough alone. The Slim has a nostalgic look and feel with its wire spoke wheels and Hollywood handlebar. And since our Slim came in the Olive Gold Denim paint scheme, with the military-grade lettering and star on the tank, we thought it would be fun to militarize it a bit more by adding a Harley-Davidson Black Engine Guard (#49023-02A/$214.95) and Soft Lower Kit (#57100213/$109.95), giving it even more of a vintage Army bike look.
